What is meant by “ally”? Give me a break!
Jul 23rd, 2007 by Daniel Z.
I think Bobby Jindal needs a dictionary. In a recent campaign stop, Congressman Jindal was asked if he was an ally of David Vitter after Vitter got caught with his pants down. Jindal’s response: “What do you mean by ally?”.

Well Congressman Jindal, there are plenty of online dictionaries that one could use if you don’t have access to a desk version. I mean there has got to be one or two laying around your Congressional office. One would think that a Rhodes Scholar would know the meaning of the word ally. But then again, one would hope that a Rhodes Scholar would also know a little civics as well.
And for those who criticize me for playing “semantics”, you now must criticize Jindal for playing semantics as well.

Dan -
You should get a job with the Democrat party issuing partisan press releases. You do a great job of manipulation and exaggeration, which is perfect for a partisan job such as communications director or something like that.
Are you sure this is Trotsky. I mean, you didn’t call me fat! What’s up with that?
Do you not think Jindal was “playing semantics” when he asked what was meant by “ally”?
Dan Z-
I used to be almost convinced that you had some valid points, but this proves your determination and obsession with simply hating Jindal. If I had been Jindal, I’d have done the same thing, and not for semantics. ‘Ally’ as asked that way could have mean’t several things. Besides the fact that that news had likely caught Jindal by surprise too, I would have been disappointed in a governor candidate if they’d have made a decision that quickly, without learning all of the facts. I’m sure I’d probably get criticism like “during katrina needed a governor who would act, not sit around,” but I firmly believe in gaining the whole picture BEFORE acting. I think that is what Jindal is doing here. You’re just unwilling to even consider that as a possibilty– and that’s what bothers me.
Even the Democrat Party of Louisiana has distance themselves from this loser Danny Zimmerman.
Jillil: Have they really? I am sure you would have some sort of proof to verify this claim of yours that the Louisiana Demcoratic party has distanced itself from me.
So where is the proof? I won’t hold my breath since it clearly does not exist.
la_resident: Why would one post make you stop thinking that other points are not valid?
Ally can mean many things. As a rhodes scholar I expect that Jindal would know the definition of a simple English word. Jindal is a smart politician, he has to know that his close political relationship with Vitter was going to come up. He was not surprised by them at all.
You are assuming that I am unwilling to consider that Jindal was waiting to get the whole picture before acting. I KNOW FOR A FACT that he waited to get the picture before acting since many others made statements about vitter and Jindal remained silent for days.
If Jindal was still waiting for other facts to come up, he would have said “i am waiting for all the facts to come out before passing judgement” instead of saying what he said.
These sure are some lame criticisms. I just wish Dan would stop playing around and start posting the reasons Jindal is to be viewed as “bad.”
Trotsky: I have posted many reasons why Jindal is a bad choice for governor. Some are smaller reasons, and others are bigger reasons. The combined sum total of those reasons spell it out pretty clearly.
And if you actually took the time to read them and just disagreed with me then fine, you are entitled to your own opinion. I know for a fact that after reading what I post that some people will still think Jindal is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Perhaps i should do another recap post, just to remind everyone.
Yes, do that. Please. Make one big post where you lay it all out for us. Get to the point and we can discuss it. Personally, I don’t think Jindal is the best thing since sliced bread. For example, I see no reason he should not debate the legitimate candidates in this race five times like Foster Campbell is trying to get them to do.
Wow Trotsky, we agree on something! Imagine that! Jindal should debate the candidates in this race.
However, as it was stated previously on this blog, Bobby Jindal has failed to attend any candidate forum since September 2004.
He has missed two so far in this election, one of which was excusable because they scheduled it while Congress was in session.
Hey, I call ‘em like I see ‘em. Hopefully now that he will be officially campaigning, he will rise up to Foster Campbell’s challenge. I think Jindal, Campbell, and Boasso should be doing those debates all over the state. One of those three will be governor, and right now it looks like Jindal. While Jindal would have my vote if the election was today, he could possibly lose it if he shrinks to such a challenge or if one of those other two. The ankle-biters like Tony Genitals have no right to demand any attention from any of the legitimate candidates since they have done nothing to prove themselves legitimate contenders.
Now when are you going to get some real “bad stuff” on Jindal?
I intend on going back through the site and pulling out some of the better links that show Jindal as a bad choice.
However, this will be for other people’s benefit and not for you. Why? Because many of the better arguments you have already disagreed with.
Now stop agreeing with me on the debate thing. Such a shock a fat person with a clogged up heart to keel over and die!
