Tactics of Jindal Supporters

One would think that if people believed that Congressman Jindal is a “lock” and that nobody else stood a chance of beating him this fall that the supporters of Congressman Jindal would not have to resort to cheap and dirty political tactics to help him win.
In reality, this is not the case. Those who rabidly support the Congressman go to great lengths to try and make sure that no opposition can be raised. From the half truths told in the commercials about John Breaux to the way that the supporters attack me and others, it really looks like these people are afraid that history may repeat itself and Jindal will lose another statewide election unless they don’t hold anything back (including the lies).
That is where people like “4unionparish” come in. They go online and spread lies about people and try and muddy the water so that the readers, instead of looking at the points and counterpoints made about the Congressman, will just look at the name calling that is done. Take the post by “4unionparish”. In the previous thread I am called the “master of misrepresentation”. However, he never points out what exactly I am misrepresenting. He only mentions the 1000 jobs that I had previously discussed (that I didn’t know what they where or if they where important). He also spreads lies about me being a Tony G. supporter. I explained in that thread why it wasn’t true in that thread. The point of the matter is that “4unionparish” has no reason to believe that I am a Tony G. supporter. However, he hopes that by insulting Tony G and his chances, then erecting a straw man of who I am, that people will be less likely to read the rest of the site (like 4union claims he will not do).
And don’t get me started on how they treat Tony Gentile in this race. If they don’t feel that he will mount a serious campaign then they really should just ignore him. They don’t do that though. They take every opportunity to bash and insult him (and others) instead of actually discussing the issues that are important to Louisiana.
The dirty tricks go way back as well. In 2004, when some friends of mine went to cast their absentee ballots, a Jindal supporter was in the waiting room trying to convince people to vote for him. This is a clear violation of the law, yet a Jindal supporter felt the need to do it.
This brings me to my point. These people wind up being the public face of Congressman Jindal’s gubernatorial campaign. Will Congressman Jindal step up and say that he rejects the tactics used by his supporters? If Congressman Jindal cannot step up and be a leader to the people who support him and convince them to change their tactics, then how on earth is he going to be able to be a leader in Baton Rouge and convince people who are not his supporters to follow his plan for Louisiana (assuming he has one)?
If he doesn’t stand up and do this, well he either proves that he is not a leader or he proves that he supports the tactics (which would make him the typical politician he has claimed to not be).

I’ve met John Georges twice so far. He seems to be a very nice guy. He has given money to the Bobby Jindal Campaign when he ran for Congress but hey, nobody’s perfect.
I think he has a lot of good things to say. If it came down to Georges and Jindal in a runoff, so far I would have to say that Georges would be my choice.
Georges has been a leader in both civic issues and business issues. That leadership ability makes him a better choice than Jindal who has no idea what it means to lead. Jindal is a follower.

Why did I decide to run for Governor? Good question. After the storm it became apparent that Louisiana had no leadership. None to be found anywhere. This was a real opportunity for someone to step up and take charge. I watched as the members of the legislature were in session and I saw Peppi Bruneau. I laughed quietly to myself thinking he was a young man when I moved here in 1981. He looked kind of old now! Then I got to thinking, you know nothing ever changes here in Louisiana. I do not fault anybodies reaction immediately after the storm. The devastation was astronomical. I do fault people when they can not own up to their shortcomings and responsibilities. The Governor blamed George Bush for the slow response. The call for help came four days after the storm had hit. That can be verified with the White House call log. Bush took the blame saying he was Commander in Chief. The Fed’s had their share of the blame to tote but the state had a share she tried to pawn off. The perception of Louisiana throughout the country is poor. Was poor before the storm and has gotten worse everyday afterwards. We need to change. Any successful change has to come from the top down. People ask me why I don’t run for a state rep job. Change in the middle! Wont work I have seen it fail where I work many times. I’m running as an Independent because I consider myself to be a moderate. Partisan politics from either side of the aisle is bad business for the people. Good for the party bad for the people. I represent change, leadership, and accountability.
I have met all of the candidates but one. I can honestly say that we all have a vision for Louisiana and we’re in this for the right reason. (All except the one). I’m not a rich man monetarily so I can feel the pain and the needs of everyone. Walter Boasso of who I consider a friend calls them the “little guy”. In my eyes we’re all equal; we all have the same rights, ambitions, and goals for our families. Louisiana has to have a clean start. We’ve scraped bottom for so long it’s time to pull ourselves up and lead the way for change. I’ getting long winded here!

It’s amazing! Jindal supporters spend so much time defending him from me? They call me a third tier candidate. One guy even calls me a “dumbass jerk”. I can feel the love. This is the way I see it. I have talked to Jindal’s assistant,a young man named Luke, I can’t remember his last name. He would not let me speak to the Congressman (which is the Rep in my district) however he did mention that Bobby Jindal does not condone actions like slander, malice, or any other type of activity that would be considered an attempt to belittle someone falsely. Now I took Luke at his word. As a matter of fact we had this conversation twice. Now Luke can be telling the truth therefore Bobby Jindal would be in disdain of the activities of some of his supporters. Or, these supporters are mirror images of the Congressman when he is off camera or behind close doors. Perhaps they are emulating the Bobby Jindal we never see. It’s to rampent to believe anything other than the latter. I still give the Congressman the benefit of the doubt. For now.

A) I have nothing to do with Tony G and his campaign.
B) I didn’t run against Jindal in the last Congressional election.
C) I do not feel humiliated for my results in 2004. The campaign was a great learning experience, I got to meet a bunch of great people, and I was able to use my campaign to help people as well (something I dont feel I would have been able to do otherwise). See, I was able to use my campaign to get items to victims of Hurricane Ivan.
The fact that you, a Jindal supporter, would make this post just proves my point that Jindal supporters don’t have much faith in the ability of their candidate to win since they need to resort to insults and lies.

Personal Bio of Anthony “Tony G” Gentile
Anthony was born on June 22, 1960 in Dover Delaware. His father was in the United States Air Force which afforded him the opportunity to travel around the country. He attended schools in Washington, Texas, the Philippine Islands, and Pennsylvania where he graduated in 1978. He attended Bucks County Community College from 1978-1981. As a youngster sports was a major part of his life which was highlighted in 1977 and 1978 recieving invitations to tryout for the Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies.
In 1981 he married his high school sweet heart Karen and together they set off out into the working world. Anthony landed a job in Norco, La with GHR Energy. Early 1983 the refinery shutdown due to the slumping oil industry. Nine months later he rebounded and gained employment with Tenneco Oil Company in Chalmette, La. The facility has changed onwership and is now an ExxonMobil site. The last nineteen years he’s been in a supervisory role at the refinery.
Since 1981 Anthony has lived in Jefferson, St. Charles , and St. Tammany Parishes. In 1985 he and his wife started their family . They have two sons 19 and 21. The oldest Marcus is a junior at Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA and the youngest Darryl is trying his luck in the workplace. Throughout his children’s younger years you could find Anthony and Karen at the ball fields as he coached baseball, soccer and basketball.
Aside from the refinery Anthony also operates a landscaping business in St. Tammany Parish going ten years strong!

I noticed my moniker is being dragged into this vulgar exchange between Danni, Gentile, and Ron. I haven’t made up my mind who I will support yet, but it surely won’t be a refinery janitor who has Bolivian kids edit his website. I came here to see what this site was about. I heard from a friend that a lard-ass dweeb who was waxed in the last congressional election was picking at the most minor things about Jindal and trying to blow them out of proportion into a scandal. Sure enough that is what I found - a whole lot of nothing. I was seriously looking for some objective criticism of Jindal because I am afraid that he is getting too free a ride in this campaign and I don’t believe that is something that is good in a democracy. But all I found was despairation and the most petty crap. Anyway, once acquainted with who this Gentile character was, I noticed he and the carb-addict took a picture together on the “Gentile for governor” website before they put a dent into some buffet. If you want to talk about “preponderance of evidence,” then look no further than that and you can see how a reasonable person could think Danni and Gentile are in cahoots, with Danni using the refinery janitor as political cover to make baseless and petty attacks on Bobby Jindal. I will come back sometime in the future to see if you actually started making Jindal work for his status, but based on the crap that you are trying to pass as worthwhile on here, I won’t get my hopes up.

The only “new” things you have to rail about on here are partisan votes in Congress by one of the least senior members. If you could find evidence of that, then you might have a case for Jindal actually being bad. But you don’t. Actually, if you go to the “changing hearts and minds” post about Jazz Fest, my wearing the Jindal is Bad T-shirt started many conversations over those two weekends. People got to listen to the other side of the story and at the end of the day I had given people the other side of the story and they agreed that what Jindal has said about his record on healthcare and other issues are spin. Again, I do not own the site so obviously its creation had nothing to do with my loss in 2004. And I completely understand what Bobby Jindal says, that is why I opposed him in 2004 and that is why I oppose him today.

You dont know anything. I was not upset over my loss. I ENJOYED the campaign. I ENJOYED meeting new people. I was HAPPY that I was able to use my campaign to help the people harmed by Hurricane Ivan by collecting goods for them. I learned a lot of things about the political process that I would have never learned any other way. I didn’t expect to win. And I got 12,000 votes only spending $3K. Im not ashamed at that at all.

Anyone will tell you that the poll is unscientific and should be taken with a grain of salt. Well, first of all, I doub’t you have actually read enough of the site to make a correct critique of the site. However, there must be SOME reason why Jindalisbad.com is ranked high on every search engine. It is getting attention. People will be reading the site and as the site generates more traffic, more people will learn the truth about Congressman Jindal.

Jindal’s being elected to Congress probably got his brother a job with the Bush Administration (and that is probably one of the reasons Jindal follows in Congress and doesn’t leads). However, that is not illegal as far as I know.
The problem here is that you are operating under the premise that in order for Jindal to be a bad choice for Governor of Louisiana that he has to violate the law. I remember an election where voting FOR the crook was important!

The site exists to counteract the misleading spin of the Jindal campaign machine. When the opportunity exists, I will provide ideas that I think would be better. However, I am not an expert in all areas and it would be silly for me to suggest how to make things (like healthcare) better. HOWEVER, it doesn’t take a rhodes scholar to realize that cutting over 200 million dollars in services when you have already eliminated the deficit is just like cutting off the entire hand when there is only an infection in the pinky.
