Should “JIG” be taken seriously?
Dec 21st, 2006 by Daniel Z.
Reading the “Jindal is Good” website, while the pictures may seem a little over the top when it comes to the posing, I figured that the words spoken by the people running it should be taken seriously.
But now they have an article about Britney Spears and her “running for governor”. That was their “big announcement” that was supposed to “shake up” the Louisiana Governors Race in 2007.
And what do we have to look forward to next week from “JIG”? Well, they will be giving us our expert commentary on how Spears’ running will affect Jindal and Blanco. Perhaps it will swing the all important “K-Fed” vote.
Perhaps they are just trying to add a little bit of jocularity into the political world, and I’m all for jocularity. However, in a time where Louisiana needs quality leadership, such discussions seem to only be a distraction from the real debate over whether or not Jindal is a good choice to lead Louisiana in rebuilding. That is what Jindal supporters seem to like though, distractions from the real issues.

I’m not amused.
Think Bobby will like this one?
Jindal is just trying to attract attention from Spears fan base to his Web site. Jindal has created a propaganda Web site called ‘Jindal is Good,’ and is using Britney Spears’ name on the Web site to generate traffic. See: http://www.mymoneyblog.net/how-to-use-beautiful-women-for-website-traffic-increase/. Jindal probably thinks he cannot be sued by Brittany Spears because it’s all a joke. Any comments from attorneys out there? Could Spears sue Jindal for using her to market his Web site?
Brittany Spears for Governor of Louisiana? I thought Jindal was making fun of Spears on his Web site by pretending that she was running for Governor. Afterall, Spears is neither a Louisiana resident nor politically active. For Jindal to have known prior to Spears announcement would only mean that the Jindal campaign manipulated poor Spears into this announcement. (Note to Brittany: Don’t let Jindal put you on display with a silly script so that his campaign can make fun of you.)
As far as I know, the “J.I.G.” website is not affiliated with Bobby Jindal.
You can be sure it’s a product of Jindal’s brillant mind. Afterall, where did all those pictures of Jindal posing with his fake smile come from?
Im sure you can get many pictures of Jindal by just doing a google image search.
On the topic of taking that website seriously, read “THE JINDAL CHRONICLES” on the front page. If it wasnt for the “why is Jindal good” page, I would think that this entire website is a satire that hopes to use Jindal’s name recognition to sell t-shirts for Storyville Apparel.

I hope that the Webmaster is reporting his political contribution (the cost of running a Web site isn’t cheap) to the Federal Election Commission (http://www.fec.gov/) … . And, are the profits from the t-shirts being used to finance the Jindal’s campaign?
Jindal is using Spears as a way to make fun of Louisiana women by giving her silly scripts. He’s a GREAT manipulator …
I see that JIG is using LSU’s computers to work on Jindal’s campaign … “Webmaster: Josh Harvey - jharve1@lsu.edu.”
Marsha: A couple points.
A)Running a website is actually fairly cheap if you can design the site yourself or use one of the free tools that are either given to you by the host or available for download online. Many packages include hosting costs for multiple sites so it may very well be that the site is “free” under the terms of the agreement with the hosting company.
B)The website “jindalisgood.com” is discussing why Jindal is “Good” for the governors race. The FEC would not have jurisdiction over the comments made on that site.
C) According to the website, no profits are generated and they are not affiliated with Bobby Jindal in anyway. I would stay clear of assuming too much about the site and its affiliation to Jindal and his campaign for governor.
D) Since JIG is advertising a store, it may (or may not be) in violation of the LSU rules for access to their network to use his LSU e-mail address to sell t-shirts. You would have to view their student handbook to be sure.
What I am trying to point out to you is this. You are making some claims about Bobby Jindal without real proof. If we, as concerned citizens of Louisiana, want to educate the public abot why Bobby Jindal would be bad for Louisiana as governor we absolutely MUST keep our discussions of him , his policies, his record, and his activities to the facts at hand. We cannot start accusing him of any relation to JIG based on the idea that because the site “endorses him” for governor that he must have something to do with it. If we make claims without backing them up, people will not take this site seriously and I would hate this valuable educational resource about the flaws of Bobby Jindal to become a joke.
Dan this def. isn’t a joke. We hit the issues at hand. I’ve got a few ideas for some upcoming posts too!
I know this isnt a joke. My concern was that making allegations without the proof to back it up is not a good thing for people to do if they want others to take this site seriously.
We know that Jindal is weak on education, ethics, women’s rights and many other issues. We can point to his record and his statements to back those claims up.
I just wanted Martha to know that while I share her zeal in educating people about Jindal, that some of the things she said could work to harm our efforts.
I look forward to your ideas!
Dan would you care to write a piece about his women’s rights stance? I would love to read that.
