Political Cowardice
Sep 5th, 2007 by Daniel Z.
Those are the terms used by The Advocate in their recent article about Bobby Jindal and his failure to attend debates.
Other key quotes from the editorial include…
“Gubernatorial candidate Bobby Jindal is embarrassing himself and doing voters a disservice by repeatedly ducking candidate forums.”
“A man who would be governor should be willing to test himself and his ideas in the arena of public debate and discussion.”
”
Avoiding forums is something campaign front-runners often do, hoping to avoid making mental and verbal blunders, and to keep from elevating opponents in the public eye.
If that is smart politics, it also is political cowardice.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself! (In fact, I’ve been saying the same thing all along.)

An editorial from the liberal Advocate criticizing Bobby Jindal. What a shocker! You couldn’t find a conservative in that newsroom if your life depended on it! It must be nice to have the media in your back pocket when you are a lib dem!
Stop being so petty, Dan!
Dan, if you are so concerned about Bobby Jindal, why don’t you step up to the plate and run for governor! You are the “political coward” who hides behind a website to launch unfounded and, frankly, pathetic attacks on a good and decent man! You are like an Iraqi insurgent who attacks our troops from afar with an IED, but doesn’t have the stones to stand up and fight man to man because he knows he will be wiped out!
Of course you don’t attack the statement that is being made, you are attacking the person (or entity) making that statement!
Typical Jindal Supporter Rebuttal
Dan, this site is GREAT! I should have visited it sooner. I’ll try to increase traffic for it. Thanks for doing it! TW
Um, “Phil”, considering the fact that I ran against Bobby Jindal in 2004, I think you claim of cowardice towards me is unfounded and absurd.
And when I ran against him in 2004, I attended every candidate forum I was invited to. Bobby Jindal attended only 1 in September 2004. So obviously I did have the stones to stand up and fight man to man. So who had the “stones” then?
And you know what? If Bobby Jindal was up to it, I would debate the issues with him in a public forum. Now, go ask him if he would be willing to do the same! You will then see who has “stones” and who doesn’t.
And unlike you, who uses some aweful joke of a name to post, I post using my real name. So who has the “stones” again?
And yes, I lost in 2004. One of the lessons that I have learned in running for office was that it doesn’t matter what level you run at, you need to raise money first before running. So that is one of the reasons that I wouldn’t run for Governor.
Another reason is that, unlike Bobby Jindal, I understand the fact that I am not qualified.
The guy realize on spin and the fact that corporate media is owned by all the connected cronies in this state. I am sure he is having discussions and I am equally sure he has lots of plans. But we won’t find out what they are until it is too late.
When will this State grow a set and put an end to shady back-room deals?
That should be “relies” on spin, not “realize”.
Hey, Phil, I hadn’t noticed before your comment that the Advocate is LIBERAL?!?!?!? Beg pardon? This is perhaps the most asinine statement I have ever heard in my life. Are the Manships liberal? Aren’t they registered Republicans? And pray tell, whom did the Advocate endorse for president, twice, both in 2000 and 2004? By 2004, it was obvious to all but the most seriously mentally challenged that George Bush was an abject failure - so the fact that they endorsed him AGAIN goes to show just how much of a right-wing rag they are. Crikey. TW
The Advocate contributed heavily to Jindal’s campaign. Perhaps they are unhappy about his performance.
Why is it that every time Jindal and his reporters are confronted with the facts they respond with hysterical name-calling and obfuscation? The facts are that both the Advocate and the Business Report are strong financial backers of Piyoush Jindal. For weeks they have been running stories highlighting the talking points from the Jindal campaign. If the editorial staff writers are upset now it is because Jindal’s sneaking and hiding from public forums have reflected poorly upon them and cast uncomfortable accusations against the integrity of their operations.
There’s a new post about Jindal on the Talk2Action website in regards to Catholic/Protestant ads running.
see it here: http://www.talk2action.org/story/2007/9/8/195018/0068/Front_Page/The_Real_Issue_Behind_Jindal_s_Religious_Beliefs
One thing about the Advocate, they never support loser.
They don’t support uneducated, inexperience, refinery janitors.
The media tends to never want to go out on a limb for the “best candidate” if they think another candidate will win. I think they are afraid that if they dont back the winner that they will not get access.
Jililly you’re back. How’s thing in LC? Small world isin’t it? You’re a typical Jindal supporter. I got a new nick name for you. YOu’re such a big supporter I’m going to call you jock strap. Now look Jock Strap you continually put down hard working Louisianan’s in the name of Bobby Jindal. Perhaps we could get the message out that Jock Strap, Bobby Jindal and the GOP here in Louisiana think very lowly of “uneducated people” that work hard for a living. That’s the message yopu continually send out. I have three interviews this week, I bet I could work that in. Good reading for the folks in central Louisiana where the Bobby Jindal bus is rolling. Whatcha think?
I read this today in a local forum from Houma:
“Blueprint Louisiana, http://www.blueprintlouisiana.org/ , seems to scare candidates Walter Boasso, Foster Campbell and Bobby Jindal. Perhaps THEY are not ready for the local and state government over hall the citizens of Louisiana are demanding.
Makes it an easier decision for me, with these 3 candidates taking themselves out of my options for governor. The agenda includes things such as ethics, education and health care. Perhaps since THEY aren’t ready for a change, we need to make them fully aware that WE are…and we’re moving on with or without them. Good riddance.”
Access to what ?
No wonder you’ve never won an election. And never will, unless you go back to Maryland.
actually it looks like that Blueprint Louisiana thing is just a bunch of Astroturf, no real grassroots there. Just a bunch of Rich guys trying to find a wage to leverage deals and money into their own pockets. It is obvious that they care more about the cost of labor and availability of labor for their own interests. This is the same crowd that would argue to hire Mexicans on Hb-1 visas.
Jillil: Wow you are really ignorant of the political process if you don’t believe that they are more likely to endorse the person who they think can win vs the person why they may think is the best. Sometimes that person may be the same person. Othertimes, however, they are better served by endorsing the candidate who will win so they can have access TO THAT CANDIDATE.
And with your WONDERFUL grasp of the english language that can be seen on this blog, I doubt anyone would mistake you for someone who would be able to accurately predict my ability to win an election.
OK fine. But “What about the levees?”—Why about the outrageous insurance premiums?—Does $178,000 buy a govenor and sell out the NOLA people? Jindal is a fraud and corrupt.
Mr “X”, you must be related Tony G.
The Governor does not regulate th Insurance Industry in Louisiana.
This is why the of Louisiana elect and Insurance Commissioner.
The Democrats in Louisiana have controlled the Industry for the last 75 years. Jindal has not been to any statewide office and is not responsible for the Convicted DEMOCRATS that has been send Federal Prison, for lying and stealing.
And by the way screw the people on New Orleans, for allowing themselves to be screwed for all these year by the DEMOCRATS.
And they are still doing it to you.
“Blueprint Louisiana”, is a joke.
Where did you get you information about 50 percent of the state wanting this.
If that was true, trust me Campbell, Boasso and Jindal would be all over this.
There is NOT a word about in other part of Louisiana. Read the papers and watch local news. Nothing about “Blueprint Louisiana”.
Danny, if you won’t so stupid, you would be a U.S. States Congressman now. skipping and holding hand with Barney Franks around the U. S. Capital.
Even the D C whore wouldn’t screw you.
They know you your a worthless piece of crap.
Danny, have you ever been to bed with a woman?
Hey Jock Strap I never said the Governor regulates the Insurance industry. Wake up man.
Jillil: I have a phone number for you to call: 1-800-ABCDEFG
At least your posts are good for a laugh.
And my wife is very happy with me, so you can stop fantasizing about my sex life now.

No Danny, I was thinking of two pig in a blanket.
I guess you didn’t call the number yet.
Check it out Jindal the Swindel does it again.
the Bush Regime had slammed through a controversial plan to allow Mexican trucks into America willy-nilly and was trying to shove it down’s peoples’ throats by whining about NAFTA. The Senate Democrats– with help from some Republicans who are afraid of being defeated next year– finally slammed down the breaks on Bush. Yesterday The Senate overwhelmingly passed the Dorgan Amendment (Amendment 2797 to HR 3074, a transportation appropriations bill)
But guess what local Rubber stamp voted with Bush?

Danny, congratulation to you and Tina.
Was Tony G, your best man ?
My last comments are moderated?
Um, Jillil, I broke up with Tina in January 2006. For an online stalker and harasser you are really pathetic. Using information over a year and a half old? How sad for you.
And no, Tony G. was not my best man. He wasn’t even invited to the wedding.
Any more irrelevant questions for me?
never mind, looks like I confused Vitter for Jindal. All those rubberstamps look alike!
Thanks,
FP: I think your inclusion of two links sparked the auto-moderation. I think it is a setting in wordpress blogs.
And yes, you confused the two rubber stamps. A simple way to tell the difference is that Jindal is the one who keeps his pants on.

I bet that really upset the Bill and Bertha.
Interesting that you know their names….
Some come on Jillil, tell us who you really are. Or are you too afraid?
