Jindal votes against the people of Washington D.C.
Apr 25th, 2007 by Daniel Z.
HR 1905, otherwise known as the District of Columbia House Voting Rights Act, was passed in the House. This bill would provide for the Citizens of the United States of America who live in the District of Columbia to have representation in Congress. The bill would increase the number of representatives in the House to 437 (which means that no state will lose a seat and one state will gain a seat).
Of course, Bobby Jindal voted against this legislation. Why would he do this? Why should Citizens of the United States of America who happen to live in Washington D.C. (and are not domiciled somewhere else) not have congressional representation? Could it be that the voters in Washington D.C. are likely to vote for a Democrat and he doesn’t want to give the Democrats another seat in the House? Does Bobby Jindal think that Democrats do not deserve representation? He does a poor enough job representing the Democrats in his own district, why does he have to punish the Democrats in D.C. as well?
In this act of trying to make sure that Democrats get less votes, im sure people like Tom Delay are proud. Fortunately, Jindal’s vote doesn’t matter and the bill passed.
Just another reason why as a choice for Governor, Bobby Jindal is Bad.
Disclaimer for Jindal supporters who are paranoid about the race issue and think that people who do not support Jindal are doing so because of his ethnicity:
Jindal supporters will say that people who are against Bobby Jindal are people who want a white governor or are somehow racist. For those who would suggest that I would want David Duke (or some other racist) as my governor, or that I care about Jindal’s ethnicity in making my decision on who to vote for, I will repeat myself once again. In an election between Bobby Jindal and David Duke, I would vote for Bobby Jindal and put his bumper sticker on my car.

(3 votes, average: 3.67 out of 5)
I don’t care what you say about Bobby Jindal because you just love bashing him bigtime!!! I am voting for him bigtime!!!! John Breaux is the one you should bash bigtime!!! You need a life man.Bobby Jindal did none of this and I mean none you jerk!!!!
That is great, take him to task for every single vote that he makes. This last vote of his is just un-American. I don’t think Jindal so interested in his ego as is in following the path of becoming a High paid lobbyist at place like the Livingston group one day.
Somebody should right a book about this culture of politicians becoming lobbyist as career path. They trade a few votes now for jobs in the private sector later or they go on to work in a lobby. Well everyday American’s can’t afford a lobby.
If your calling Bobby Jindal a Lobbyist you are so wrong because John Breaux is your Lobbyiest and he went back too Maryland where he belongs!!!
Washington, DC already has a representative in the house–Eleanor Holmes Norton. The representative from DC does not have voting privileges, but Norton, along with representatives from other U.S. territories, is able to serve and vote in committees and debate issues on the House floor. This legislation gives the DC representative full voting privileges. I think this was long overdue since DC citizens pay taxes and are able to vote in presidential elections. Whatever happened to “no taxation without representation”?
I’m not surprised Jindal voted the way he did since he relies on queues from party leadership to tell him where he stands.
Ron: You don’t care what I say about him? I would hope that all voters would want to hear all sides of every issue and come to an informed decision about the person that they choose to vote for in this race.
We are facing a vital time in Louisiana history. We need to make sure we elect the correct person for the job. I do not do this because I “love to bash him”. I wish that I didn’t have to bash him. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there who just believe the lies that he spreads about himself (and the lies that the Republican Party spreads about him) and I cannot stand for it.
If you think that American Citizens do not deserve congressional representation because they live in D.C. or if you think that ethics standards need to be weaker then go ahead, be my guest and vote for Jindal. However, if you think this state deserves someone who will stand up for ethics (and not vote against them) then Jindal is not your man.
I agree. Bobby is bad for LA. He also voted against the current Iraq Funding bill which contained an exemption for the 10% matching which Bush is not waiving. He voted to appease his party and not to benefit his state. He should be looking out for the interests of his state before his political party. I could tell you more about his lack of action in the aftermath of Katrina but can’t jeapardize my current job. Everyone would be appalled.
You better start paying attention to the issues and the facts.
It is best for everybody.
“I don’t care what you say about
Bobby JindalEdwin Edwards because you just love bashing him bigtime!!! I am voting for him bigtime!!!! John Breaux is the one you should bash bigtime!!! You need a life man.Bobby Jindal did none of this and I mean none you jerk!!!!”
See now where is this kind of thinking gotten us in the past. Louisiana has chaned. A core group of citizens put this behind when they voted the levee board out, when the consolidated the tax assesors and when they woke up and started paying attention. Those days are over. There is a new political landscape and awaresness here that the republicans are not ready for.
Bobby Jindal will win bigtime hands down this October!!! The Democrats has nobody good running against my man Bobby Jindal because they are so damn scared!!! I am a big Republican and Proud of it!!! GOOOOOOOOO BOBBY GOOOOOOOOO!!! Oh and tell me right now where Edwin Edwards is huh??? Prison!!! He is a big Crook and I hope he stays in prison the rest of his life.
Let me ask you something Zimmerman. Did you make a website bashing Kathleen Blanco too saying Kathleenblancoisbad.com? She is worse than Bobby Jindal is bigtime!!!
Why is Bobby so good? I don’t see it? I all see is a bunch of hype, pr, spin, and Yahooing.
Keep an eye on this cat. I am glad we have watchdogs on both sides that ferret out when these guys are up to no good!
Keep up the great work and service!
Don’t count your chickens so soon Chaisson. Polls are very misleading.
Tony G you don’t no nothing because your a Damn Democrat!!! Polls are not Misleading for your information. I’m not even voting for you because you suck like most Democrats and you don’t stand a chance against my man Bobby Jindal whatsoever!!! So if I was you I would keep your trashy mouth shut just like your other buddies should too!!!
Ron Chaisson: People don’t need convincing to not support Blanco. Her polling numbers where in the 30’s. People need convincing to not support Jindal because they are currently believing the misleading spin that has been presented about him instead of knowing the actual facts.
Regardless of whether Blanco is worse than Jindal, she is no longer running for Governor. Bobby Jindal is running for governor. I have no idea why you could support someone who doesn’t support stronger ethics, who voted against cutting the 10% matching payment requirement, and who would tell a rape victim that she has no choice if she got pregnant from that rape (as well as his many other flaws).
According to the John Georges poll, 80% of the state have not made a firm commitment on who they are voting for. I intend on doing whatever I can to educate the people of Louisiana on the TRUTH about Bobby Jindal and have them reject the spin that his campaign and the Republican party spreads about him.
And Ron, Tony G. is neither a Republican or a Democrat. I suggest you educate yourself about all the candidates in this election (especially about your “man” Bobby Jindal). If you took the time to learn the truth, perhaps you would change your mind.
Hey Zimmerman nobody will listen to you at all anyways. You can try if you think you can stop people from voting for Jindal. So far I have the Southern Parishes voting for him and I am on his campaign Leadership Team bigtime!!! I would support Republicans before I support Democrats that don’t know much. You guys should be called Lobbyiest yourselves. I know they stuff Jindal is doing and he is doing a very awesome job. Much better than what Kathleen Blanco did for sure. Oh I already know Bobby Jindal will be our new Governor of Louisiana because he is Unstoppable bigtime and I don’t give a damn what you liars say about him because I know its all false information!!!
Ron: Jindal lost last time. He can lose again. I know I can stop people from voting for Jindal. Why? Because I have already done so. When I speak to people about his actual record, they are shocked. Nobody wants to believe that the Republican “boy wonder” Jindal would do things like vote against ethics and vote against the 10% requirement, but he has.
I find it hard to believe that “you” have the Southern Parishes voting for him. And regardless of what any polling data says now, when the money starts flowing from other candidates you will see Jindal drop in the polls.
When Louisiana has a record of bad ethics and high corruption, how can you support a candidate for governor who voted to weaken house ethics as one of his first votes in Congress? It saddens me that we would continue to keep voting in people who are not strong on ethics.
And why do you keep comparing Jindal to Blanco. She is not running for governor, so the comparison is absurd.
I sent Bobby Jindal $100 so in your face Zimmerman!!! UMMMMMMMM doesn’t Jindal have alot more money than anybody else right now and he is also has a big Double-Digit Lead over everybody!!! Bobby Jindal will win bigtime!!! Why don’t you run for Governor Zimmerman?! I still wouldn’t vote for you at all!!! I bet your for Foster or Tony G for Governor!!! They won’t win for sure. Oh and Jindal is Strong bigtime Zimmerman your not for sure. What happened to John Breaux huh??? HE BREAUX BREAUX BREAUX HIS BOAT BACK TO MARYLAND WHERE HE BELONGS!!! Go ahead and talk the talk and walk the walk about my man until your blue in the face Zimmerman!!! My Guns are Cocked and Loaded bigtime for this Governor’s Race that belongs to Bobby Jindal bigtime!!!!
In my face? That was really mature. Is that the kind of politics that we should expect from people who are in his “campaign leadership team”? If that is the kind of maturity we can expect from his campaign leadership team, what kind of maturity will we get from Jindal himself?
Only $100? I plan on donating more than that to the candidate I end up
supporting in this election. I have yet to make my decision. The future of our state relies on this next election and I am not going to just run to a candidate unless I am certain that the candidate will be good for Louisian. I am certain that Jindal will be bad for Louisiana.
And no, Jindal does not have more many than everyone else. John Georges has more money than Jindal. Over 5 million dollars will both be able to spend money to promote himself and educate the voters on why Bobby Jindal is a bad choice for governor (which will help all other candidates who will then only have to promote themselves since they wont need to duplicate George’s message)
Why don’t I run for Governor? Because I am not currently qualified to be Governor. Unlike Jindal, I am honest enough to admit that I am not qualified to serve as governor. Jindal needs to spread lies about himself to fool people into voting for him. Anyone who votes for Jindal is supporting someone who has already voted for weaker ethics. Our state will look foolish for electing someone else who has a proven record of being against ethics rules.
Is it possible that Jindal will win? Yes. But I am going to fight tooth and nail to try and educate as many people as possible. If I fail to spread the word enough, then at least I tried. And I, at least, am willing to look at all of the candidates and educate myself before making a decision about who to support. You seem willing to just believe what you are told about Jindal, which is sad.
If Jindal runs this state, he will run it into the ground.
And I feel the need to post this again, just in case.
In an election was between Bobby Jindal and David Duke, I would vote for Bobby Jindal and put his bumper sticker on my car.
Here is why they voted that way:
Political and racial complications
African Americans make up a very high percentage (60%) of the D.C. population, compared to the national average, and critics charge that opposition to D.C. voting rights is largely based on racism. Whether or not that is true, it is clear that the granting of voting rights would result in a clear benefit to Democrats and a corresponding disadvantage to Republicans; for example, 89% of D.C. voters supported the Democrat John Kerry in the 2004 presidential election, a higher percentage than any state mustered for either candidate. Any voting representatives sent to Congress by a future D.C. with voting rights could similarly be expected to be Democrats.
FP: Didn’t I pretty much say that in my initial post? (Just picking on you.)
Leave Washington D.C out the picture you damn jerks!!! You should be bashing Bush more than Jindal bigtime damit!!! You guys are a bunch of damn cowards and liars!!! Bobby Jindal has more money than anybody!!! Bobby Jindal is trying to get the President to pass this thing to protect our leeves from Hurricanes you Idoits!!! I don’t have to give Bobby Jindal alot of money because he already has alot for his awesome campaign. Oh and the Sheriffs are supporting him and alot of big name Republicans and Democrats too!!! I’ve got alot of friends around this state of Louisiana that like Bobby Jindal and we will suceed this October and then after he wins we can come Hack this damn site of yours Zimmerman the Cracker!!!!
Ron:
“Leave Washington D.C out the picture you damn jerks!!! ”
Why? It is an issue that Jindal recently voted on and is another example of why Jindal is bad. He voted against American Citizens having Congressional representation.
“You should be bashing Bush more than Jindal bigtime damit!!! ”
This site is called “Jindal is Bad” and not “Bush is Bad”. Why would we be bashing Bush here unless it had something to do with why Jindal is a bad choice for Governor.
My political blog at lj4a.com will be used for all criticisms of national and local issues.
“You guys are a bunch of damn cowards and liars!!! ”
Im using my real name, obviously I am not a coward. Please explain why I am a liar.
“Bobby Jindal has more money than anybody!!! ”
That is a lie. http://www.nola.com/timespic/stories/index.ssf?/base/news-4/1177482462124760.xml&coll=1 Jindal’s total is 4.7 million. Georges’ total is over 5.5 million. Seems like you are incorrect.
“Bobby Jindal is trying to get the President to pass this thing to protect our leeves from Hurricanes you Idoits!!!”
Bobby Jindal voted against 1591, a vote that put the President’s failed Iraq policy ahead of our rebuilding. And resorting to name calling? That doesn’t speak much for Jindal’s campaign leadership team (if you are really part of it).
“I don’t have to give Bobby Jindal alot of money because he already has alot for his awesome campaign.”
Awesome? The campaign is awesome in the amount of lies it will have to tell to convince people to vote for him!
“Oh and the Sheriffs are supporting him and alot of big name Republicans and Democrats too!!!”
Nobody is perfect. Jindal got a lot of endorsements last time as well. He lost.
“I’ve got alot of friends around this state of Louisiana that like Bobby Jindal and we will suceed this October and then after he wins we can come Hack this damn site of yours Zimmerman the Cracker!!!! ”
Again, this is not “my site”. On your quest to get Jindal to win his first statewide election, I wish you all the luck in the world (bad luck that is).
Are you actually saying that Jindal, after becoming governor, would use his power and “hack” into this site? That doesn’t make him seem like someone who would use his power effectively.
That is exactly why Republicans have an unfair advantage in debates. They are not concerned with the facts.
Oh Dan Zimmerman ran against Bobby Jindal and has been on Bobby Jindal’s case ever since their first election a few years ago. What about that huh Dan? The Truth hurts huh Dan? Why don’t you tell everybody about that Dan? So that’s why you hate Bobby Jindal huh? Your just jealous of Bobby Jindal that’s all Dan Zimmerman.Get over it Dan.
Ron: I have already told everyone on this site that I ran against Jindal in 2004 (and obviously lost). I would suggest you take the time to read things before you go off making uninformed comments.
Here is the link. I have nothing to hide and I am not ashamed about my attempts to try and make a difference.
http://www.jindalisbad.com/more-examples-of-jindals-lies/#comment-2679
“Pointcoupe: You are preaching to the choir on that issue. When I ran against Jindal in 2004 my number 1 priority was coastal restoration and hurricane protection. Jindal ignored those important issues in that campaign. ”
That is just one example, I have mentioned it here more than once.
I love how you are a self proclaimed part of the Jindal campaign leadership team, yet you are getting more and more childish with each post you make. Keep going though, it is entertaining to see how low Jindal supporters are willing to go. And it is also interesting to see that with each fact that I give that shows how poor of a candidate that Jindal is, the more you need to resort to childish behavior. What is next, are you going to say “im rubber, you’re glue”?
The thought of Jindal as my governor scares me. That is why I am spending a lot of time trying to inform people about how he is a horrible choice.
Ron you sound like you have an axe to grind. I know you don’t love any Louisana politicians, much less Jindal, so much that you would write that stuff. So what gives? Are you that in love with Jindal?
FP: I think he is. He sounds like a battered spouse who regardless of what Jindal does to the State or the Country, he will keep defending him because he just loves him and cannot see him doing any wrong.
Or perhaps he is just dizzy from the spin.
You guys keep talking the talk and walking the walk I’m enjoying this so much!!! Louisiana Voters can decide if they want to vote for my man Bobby Jindal or not they don’t need our help to really choose who they are for. I just can’t believe you don’t talk about State Senator Walter Boasso thats the person that couldn’t decide what party he wanted to be in until finally he decided today. Yes I am huge Bobby Jindal Supporter and Proud of it too!!! My whole City is for Bobby Jindal bigtime!!!
Ron: While Louisiana voters can make their decisions by themselves, when the Jindal campaign spends millions on their campaigh f-LIE-rs , those lies need to be exposed. People need to make an informed decision and they wont get that unless the people opposed to Jindal unwind the Jindal campaign’s misleading spin.
Why would we make a big deal about Boasso? What does him switching have to do with Jindal being bad? We did discuss Breaux only because he was causing the Jindal camp to have a fit since they where afraid of his candidacy.
I plan on blogging about the Louisiana Republican party and why I feel Boasso switched on my personal political blog. Though, with Jazz Fest coming up, that may have to wait until next week.
Bobby Jindal lied about one thing and the Democrats lied about everything else for your information Dan Zimmerman.
Ron: That statement is just laughable. What is the “one thing” that Jindal lied about in your opinion.
I have already provided several of Jindal’s lies on this blog. There are liars on both sides of the aisle. This is something that wont be disputed.
Yeah and I bet most of those lies are false too Dan Zimmerman. Man you need to quit bugging good people like Bobby Jindal because he is a very nice man. He came to my church last year to talk and now everybody at my church is for him because they all took every single Bumper Sticker I had with Bobby Jindal’s Name on it. I really do hope Kathleen Blanco runs again because that will help Bobby Jindal win in the long run but we really don’t need her to run anyways because Bobby Jindal’s Campaign is kicking butt bigtime right now. You guys haven’t heard the last of a true Bobby Jindal Fan. You want to bash me and Bobby Jindal go ahead I have Firepower too.
You bet most lies are false? I bet all lies are false!
Bobby Jindal may be a very “nice” person but that doesn’t mean I have to like him as a choice for Governor.
Maybe you are just gullible though. This is also a possibility. I mean, do you really believe that Jindal is strong on ethics? Do you really believe that Jindal is strong on education? If you do, then you are gullible.
Why do you hope that Blanco runs again. She already said that she isn’t running. So you are hoping for something that wont happen.
I will continue to educate people about why Bobby Jindal is a bad choice for governor. If you want to follow Jindal blindly then go right ahead. Just know that you will be helping to lead this state into a worse situation than it already is if he actually wins.
Ron C, I’m not a Democrat! All of my family is but I am not. I was until Jimmy Carter. IT doesn’t matter what side of the fence you’re on. If the folks are not honest they’re no good. If they can’t be upfront, they’re no good. I know what I am talking about because I do not play party politics. I can look at people with a fair perception. If you gave Bobby Jindal $100 you may have well as just thrown it away. YOu just made an investment with no return.
Bobby Jindal will be the best governor Louisiana ever had bigtime!!!He is good in Education and he is going to protect our leeves and I really don’t believe everything you say because its all bashing so you can’t get anywhere bashing people for sure but thats all Politics for you. I am voting for Bobby Jindal and I didn’t throw my money away Tony G for your information. Oh I know Bobby Jindal will win because the Democrats have nobody that is good enough too run for governor. I’m sure most of the people you talk to about Bobby Jindal don’t believe you at all because like I said I don’t. They have sooooooooooo many people voting for Bobby Jindal right now because they know he is the right man for the job bigtime. Tony G doesn’t have chance in hell to win for Governor and Foster Campbell won’t neither and that Walter jerk he can go home so its called The Bobby Jindal Show. Oh and that other guy John Georges thats a no-namer has he even announced if he is running for governor yet? So I can’t wait to see Bobby Jindal win hands down this October. You better go check your information on Kathleen Blanco though because she said yesterday she is thinking about running again Dan Zimmerman. I do know something you jerk. LSU is even for my man Bobby Jindal bigtime!!! TIGERS FOR JINDAL GOVERNOR!!!! LSU LSU LSU GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!! Talk too you guys later Dan & Tony!!!! GOOOOOOOO BOBBY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! YEEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!! YOU AIN’T SEE NOTHING YET DAN & TONY!!!!
BOBBY JINDAL WILL ROCK LOUISIANA DAN ZIMMERMAN AND TONY G BIGTIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
www.danzimmermanisbad.com & www.tonygisbad.com
REPUBLICANS RULE BIGTIME!!!!!!!! DEMOCRATS SUCK!!!!!!!!
So if you guys are against my man Bobby Jindal then you must be for Hillary Clinton or Obama or Rudy for President in 2008. Well I hate to bust your bubble but I’m for Fred Thompson for President in 2008!!!
Ron: I seriously think you have gone off the deep end. Oh yeah, definitely off the deep end. Replying to you isnt worth the time, since you are so blinded by Jindal you cannot see the truth.
BOBBY JINDAL FOR GOVERNOR & MIKE STRAIN FOR Commissioner of Agriculture!!!! No I didn’t go off the deep end like you & Tony G has. You two guys must be from North Louisiana Dan & Tony.
Ron: I live in Kenner and have never lived in North Louisiana. Another falsehood you have stated here.
So why do you think we are from North Louisiana Ron? Are you trying to repeat the same lie that I have covered in my disclaimer?
Just in case you missed my posting of it twice on this thread already, here it is for a third time. Try and comprehend it this time.
In an election was between Bobby Jindal and David Duke (or someone like him), I would vote for Bobby Jindal and put his bumper sticker on my car.
I do not like David Duke he is a bigtime trouble maker and I would hope you would vote for Bobby Jindal in that matter. I live in South Louisiana also Dan. Why don’t you turn to the new awesome Radio Station 99.5FM and listen to State Senator Walter Boasso on the Jim Brown Show at 9am Dan. I am still and will be for Bobby Jindal no matter what you say about him Dan.
Ron: I would vote for Bobby if his only opponant(s) where racists like David duke. I have listened to 99.5 FM before. I have called in to the Jim Brown show as well. On the issue of spending the budget surplus I provided an idea that counters both Jindal and Blancos view on it. I believe that money should be spent on starting Coastal Restoration and Hurricane Protection projects. This will show the Federal Government that we are responsible with our money and make them more likely to contribute their own funds to help make the safety of South Louisiana a reality.
Jindal’s one time tax cut idea is short sighted, and I dont even remember what Blanco’s idea was but I do know I disagree with it.
I am currently not supporting any one candidate for Governor (or for President as you alleged earlier). I like to take the time to research all of the candidates and see who is the best. Unfortunately, more people dont do that.
I was working with a nurse one time and she told me that she “had to vote for Jindal because that is who the party told her to vote for”. Now isnt that just sad? Why couldn’t she take the time, think for herself, and listen to the arguments from the other side before making an informed decision?
Then if your not Supoorting anybody for Governor why are you bashing Bobby Jindal so bad huh Dan? Bobby Jindal is try to do Coastal Restoration and Hurricane Protection projects for us Dan. Why don’t you just give him three chances huh Dan? Look what happen to Kathleen Blanco everybody voted for her and she fell apart and thats why she isn’t running anymore and I really do like Bobby Jindal and so do alot of my friends and family. I should have voted for him the first time but I didn’t so thats why I am supporting him bigtime now because I know deep down that he is the man for Louisiana you may not but I really do. I would hope you like Mike Strain though because I am for him also Dan.
Ron: “Then if your not Supoorting anybody for Governor why are you bashing Bobby Jindal so bad huh Dan?”
I think that is pretty obvious. While I do not have a particular candidate that I am committing to support in the next Governors election, I know for a fact that I cannot support Jindal because of all the reasons you refuse to read.
“Bobby Jindal is try to do Coastal Restoration and Hurricane Protection projects for us Dan.”
Bobby Jindal failed to make those issues a priority in his campaign in 2004. He should not be rewarded for hindsight. This was the biggest threat and for him to not see it shows that he is not as “smart” as people give him credit for.
“Why don’t you just give him three chances huh Dan?”
Because his record does not give me any reason to give him any more chances. Id list them again, but you refuse to read criticisms of him.
“I really do like Bobby Jindal and so do alot of my friends and family.”
I cant help it that some people have bad taste or are willing to elect people who dont support strong ethics standards.
READ THIS DAN ZIMMERMAN
Coastal Protection Prevails
I voted yesterday to pass the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) in the U.S. House, which I am pleased to announce, authorizes funding for the very important Morganza to the Gulf project. Last week, I sent a letter to the President after the White House signaled their potential opposition to the project, detailing the essential hurricane protection measures the project will provide for Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes.
Thankfully, after receiving the letter, the White House rescinded their objection to the project being included in the WRDA legisation, while noting they still had concerns about the plan. Although I certainly would have preferred an unqualified endorsement for the project from the Administration, I am very pleased the Morganza to the Gulf plan is now being funded in order to better protect citizens and industries in the bayou region.
The passage of WRDA reflects the national importance of protecting the coasts of Louisiana. I am urging my colleagues in the Senate to quickly send this bill to the President for his signature, so we can bring home the more than $2 billion in funding to restore coastal wetlands in our state over the next decade.
This legislation authorizes funding for the Morganza to the Gulf project, a plan for the closure and environmental restoration of the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO), the Inner Harbor Navigational Canal Lock, Ouachita River Levees, the Atchafalaya Basin Floodway System, and the Red River Below Denison Dam. We need to get to work on these projects now. The last time this type of legislation was signed into law was in 2000, and we no longer have the option of waiting.
Jindal Amendment for Small Businesses Succeeds
An amendment I offered on the U.S. House floor this week to provide small businesses affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita with the option of receiving a four year deferment on paying back their disaster loans was successfully passed. The amendment was adopted as part of the Relief for Entrepreneurs: Coordination of Objectives and Values for Effective Recovery (RECOVER) Act (H.R. 1361), which passed the House by a margin of 267-158. The original version of this bill only extended the deferment period to victims of future disasters. My amendment applies this option to those businesses severely affected by the 2005 hurricanes.
The RECOVER Act gives the Small Business Administration (SBA) the authority to offer grants up to $100,000 for businesses severely affected by the 2005 Gulf Coast hurricanes, and is likely to distribute an estimated $180 million to small businesses damaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The legislation also contains a provision directing the SBA to establish a program to administer immediate short-term loans to small businesses damaged in disasters.
As we continue to rebuild our state, it is critical for us to give our small businesses the resources they need to create and maintain jobs right here in Louisiana. By allowing those small businesses that received disaster loans to defer their repayment, more money is freed up for them to use for rebuilding, expanding, or continuing to hire new employees. Helping our small businesses helps re-grow our economy and provide greater economic opportunities for our state.
It would be kind of hard to be against this project. Everybody was for it. But the truth is there was a much stronger stance in support of it than jindal’s This is a great example of the press and Jindal putting out a bunch of crap anytime something good happens. Even though it would happened with or without Jindal!!!

If Jindal gets elected this website is going to be able to change its title to “I told you So” one day in the future. People are going to look back and say “How did we let this happen?” and “Why did we not listen”. It was all there from the begining too.
Ron: One vote and one amendment does not a good governor make.
His “good votes” do not forgive the “bad votes”, “bad policy”, and “bad record”.
It doesn’t change that he voted to weaken house ethics standards.
It doesnt change that he voted to cut federal financial aid for education by 12 billion.
It doesn’t change the fact that he accepted money from someone with ties to Abramoff.
It doesn’t change the fact that he horded money in the Louisiana Dept. of Health instead of providing people the health care he was supposed to provide for them.
It doesn’t change the fact that he is a super extremist when we need someone who will be able to work with both sides on rebuilding.
A stopped clock is correct 2x a day. It would be very hard to find a person in government who does every single thing wrong.
He will drive this state into the ground. And I know you are not reading this. I am writing this for the benefit of everyone else.
Hey Fp its your President that is trying to pass this Morganza thing not Bobby Jindal’s Fault. I live down here where we need this to pass bigtime.
You know Dan Zimmerman you look like your from the Democrat Mafia bigtime!!!
I am sure he is going to help certain business intrests. But he is also going to hurt a lot of people. Are coasts and cultrue are disapearing. Shrimp is being imported from china at less than 1/15th of the cost to get fresh shrimp here. Bush and Jindal both voted for hb-1 work visas!
You can not mix gumbo and tortilla soup. You can’t keep driving down the cost of labor so that others can get rich. Oil business dredged 20,000 miles of canals through the wetlands. Now the Government is going to pay for restoration? Lets see somebody hold their feet to the fire too! And to top it all off you have senator Inholfe calling Global warming a hoax. You can not piss on us ant then tell us it is raining! Get Jindal out of here!
That should be “Our coasts and culture are disappearing..” I am all thumbs on this blackberry!

Death threat by Ron Chaisson towards myself, Tony G, and others has been reported to the ISP and the authorities shall be contacted as well as soon as the ISP provides me with the needed information.
Mike strain should not be commissioner of agriculture. he knows nothing about ag, and he certainly knows nothing about nutrition. just look at his weight. st. tammany must be seeing a power grab opportunity, but we in the rurals we fight you to the death, because we know what you are up to.

http://www.armchairgm.com/index.php?title=Who_Paid_For_The_Refurbished_And_Upgraded_Louisiana_Superdome?
Republicans for sure!
Man its soooooo quiet in here bigtime
No Bill Thomas we can thank the Democrats bigtime
Okay my bad I just read the article the Republicans scored a Touchdown!!!!!!!!!!!
i see Jindal and the ReTHUGlicans have dispatched their online trolls. they are trying to shut down this site with death threats and other inappropriate comments, and i have them at my site trying to defend a man who is accused of sexual harrassment while impeding a House of Representative’s investigation into a middle-aged Republican man, former Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL), who has sexually harrassing young boys in the House page program. These Republicans have no taste and no class, and I want them all banned, for they are not contributing anything to the discusion. and ron chaisson, using two names under one IP address is a bannable offense. Get these people out of there. The GOP has officially lost it: they run candidates who aid and abet a gay man’s harrassment of a young boy; they endorse a man who cheated on all three of his wives for President; they endorse a man for Governor who is a habitual liar (Jindal did not pass an OCS bill; Landrieu did); and their online goons make death threats. This is insanity, and it must stop now.
Oh when the Republicans come marching in Hooray Hooray !!!!
I really think pointecoupeedemocrat is going nuts bigtime!!!Someboy call an ambulance for pointecoupeedemocrat he needs some help pronto!!!
It looks as though Louisiana is no longer being left behind by the rest of country, they are running the opposite way. While the entire country is finally seeing through the Republican smoke and mirrors, Louisiana still seems to be blinded by the Far-Right.
At a time when the Democratic party is clearly beginning to restore hope to millions of us - and us in them - many citizens of Louisiana seem be abandoning the newly welcomed change. And this at a time when the state clearly needs more federal help.
Face it, after 2008 the Democratic Party will control both chambers of Congress and the White House. Louisiana Democrats will be in a better position to help the state than their Republican counter parts. In fact, Louisiana Democrats have done more for the state than the Republicans did when they were in full control. It’s because they choose to represent their party over their constituency.
I watched Senator Mary Landrieu in a House-Senate conference meeting televised on C-SPAN and have never witnessed someone defend their state like she did that late night (1 AM EST) and had the opportunity to briefly speak to her about it when she came here to Ann Arbor, Michigan. I told her she resembled a loiness protecting her cubs. She replied she would rather “live one day as a lion than a life of lamb.”
Take note Louisiana, don’t be fooled by these selfish Republican clowns that only spew Far-Right ideological venom with no facts to back it up. The most Bobby Jindal accomplished so far in Congress was getting a post office in Hammond named after the late state senator that represented the area. Representatives are expected to progress in Congress, not the regress (Mr. 432). I can only hope the smoke clears for the voters of my home state before the election.
This Ron Chaisson troll reminds me of Bob Boudelang from Democratic Underground. It’s got to be a joke, right? Somebody who works for Jindal and is trying to be funny …
You are so right about Bobby Jindal. I’m ashamed that I voted for him the first time around, but I really did not want Blanco in office.
I’m really disappointed that so many people in this state voted for this man. Do they not see what he stands for and what he plans to do for this state? This has nothing to do with Republicans and Democrats. This has to do with electing the person that would do more good for the state. And I’m sorry, but Jindal didn’t seem like the right choice. And neither did Boasso to me.
I’m interested to see how far back in time Jindal will take us.
