Jindal IS Campaigning.
Mar 23rd, 2007 by Daniel Z.
Don’t be fooled by the spin that Jindal is waiting until the end of the legislative session in Baton Rouge to start campaigning. He may not be spending a lot of money out of his campaign fund. However, he is definitely campaigning for Governor.
His campaign for Governor started in the 2006 Congressional election (and before that). He traveled all over the state, in areas that had nothing to do with his LA01 seat, trying to spread his message to voters (and raise funds). He even spent federal campaign dollars to run commercials and send mailers in areas that where not in his district.
Ignoring that, Bobby Jindal is still campaigning. He has a website that contains regular updates and copies of emails that he sends to people on his mailing list. Every statement he makes to the media is carefully crafted to get the most positive impact possible. Every vote he makes will be done to try and woo the most voters over to his cause. Every speaking engagement he has with a group having him as a “guest lecturer” (if he does any) will be another example of him campaigning. And, of course, any comment he makes about what he thinks should be done at the state level is clearly campaigning.
Furthermore, Bobby Jindal is the chosen candidate of the Republican Party of Louisiana. They want Jindal elected. And who is paying for and running the anti-Breaux commercials? The Republican Party, that’s who. Do not think for a minute that they are running these commercials because they are concerned about the integrity of the system. If it was some unknown candidate who was in the same situation as Breaux, they wouldn’t even lift a finger to worry about it. The Republican Party is scared of a head to head match-up between Breaux and Jindal (and rightfully so…. Breaux is the best candidate to bring the Jindal polling numbers down). So they are spending A LOT of money to try and convince voters (who will have no say in whether Breaux is actually a citizen or not… that will be left to the courts) that Breaux is not eligible to run. The only reason for this is to get as much anti-Breaux sentiment in the election so their candidate, Jindal, can have success. So yes, they are campaigning for him.
Oh, and just in case you needed any more proof that Jindal is campaigning, they have a new bumper sticker. How can someone say that they are not campaigning when they have a campaign website that allows you to get a brand new “Bobby Jindal for Governor” bumper sticker? You can’t. Why? It is because Bobby Jindal is campaigning for Governor. It is just that simple.
And one more thing…. Just in case a Jindal supporter wants to come here and ask if I want David Duke as my governor I will repeat myself once again. In an election between Bobby Jindal and David Duke, I would vote for Bobby Jindal. (I figure I need to say that every couple of posts just to keep the illogical “well you must be a racist” comments to a minimum).

From Bobby Jindal’s website.
“I have been and I will continue to be very straightforward and honest with the people of Louisiana; I am running and I am running to win.”
Survery says? X
He was not straightforward and honest with the people of LA01 or the people of Louisiana when he refused to answer questions about whether he was running for governor before November of last year. Everybody knew he was going to be running for governor, yet he refused to state that this was what he would be doing. So no, Jindal was not straightforward and honest with the people of Louisiana.
Jindal has not even started serious campaigning yet and he’s already #1 among all the candidates, including Breaux who the Dems thought would be their “secret weapon”. Sorry to burst the “Demorats” bubble but’s about time we got a serious governor in office that supports our freedoms such as the 2nd Amendment which he is a very strong supporter of. If any of you like being free, you’ll back Jindal. Then again, if you don’t that’s fine with me. He’s still going to win this fall. =)
Byron: Jindal said that he would not be campainging during the legislative session, did he not? So now it is not “serious campaigning”? That just shows the spin of Jindal supporters hard at work.
Jindal was #1 of the candidates after the last governors primary. Need I remind you what happened? I probably dont but I will rub it in again. He lost last time, and he can lose again. Over the coming months the Jindal lead will shrink.
And Byron, I am a very strong supporter of the 2nd amendment as well. I am also a supporter of all the other amendments that this Republican administration has tried to ignore and that the Republicans in Congress (of which Jindal is a pawn) have supported. You cannot just pick and choose the rights protected in the Constitution. You have to protect all of them, not just the 2nd.
Here is another example of Jindal campaigning, even though he said he wasn’t going to do so.
“The House of Representatives is out of session this week, which means I have had the opportunity to travel around the state. I have had a great time visiting with residents in Belle Chasse, Slidell, Lutcher, Marksville, Mansura, Urania, Oakdale, Many, Natchitoches, Lafayette, Jennings, Intracoastal City, Abbeville, Church Point, Baton Rouge, Minden, Downsville, and Farmerville this week.”

Here is a direct quote from Jindal about when he would start campaigning.
“I wanted to let you know that one thing is set in stone; I am running for Governor. I look forward to formally kicking off my campaign after the state legislative session”

So are we to believe that Jindal visited “with residents in Belle Chasse, Slidell, Lutcher, Marksville, Mansura, Urania, Oakdale, Many, Natchitoches, Lafayette, Jennings, Intracoastal City, Abbeville, Church Point, Baton Rouge, Minden, Downsville, and Farmerville”, that he did so for personal reasons? Or does this just prove that Bobby Jindal is a liar?
My opinion says that it is the latter. How can it be otherwise? Touring the state and visiting with voters after you have announced your candidacy for a statewide office IS campaigning. If it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck….
