Jindal and “red tape”
Sep 28th, 2007 by Daniel Z.
In last nights forum (on which I will have a more in depth blog entry later) Bobby Jindal discussed eliminating the “red tape” that is preventing Federal money from getting to people who need it to rebuild.
I have two things to say on that.
A) Jindal is in no position to criticize anything that is preventing money from getting to the people of Louisiana. He voted against increased funding in the past. That is the worst red tape imaginable. The money can never get there if you vote against it.
B) If Jindal removes the red tape, how will we know that people not getting funds who are not supposed to. The taxpayers deserve checks and balances on those funds to make sure that we are not giving them to those who do not qualify. Too much red tape is better than too little red tape. I find it hard to believe that someone who claims to be a conservative would suggest that Louisiana get a little more fast and loose with tax dollars.
