Jindal and family values
Sep 28th, 2007 by Daniel Z.
In Bobby Jindal’s new ad he discusses his problems with what kids can see on tv and hear on the radio. Why exactly is this relevant to the election for governor? What exactly does Bobby Jindal intend to do to protect children from all the evils that our children can see and hear?
What is wrong Bobby Jindal? Do you believe that you and your wife are incapable of setting rules, parenting by example, and taking control over your own house?
Here is a novel concept. Instead of making this an issue in the election, why doesn’t each individual family exert a little bit of control over their own lives and not rely on government to make their decisions for them? This used to be what “conservatives” believed in. Unfortunately, Jindal embraces the new “big brother” conservatism where government determines what values your family should have.

How can people who don’t support the troops be considered to have family values?
And have you seen the commercial where he is pushing his kid on a bike? The child’s helmet is way too big and it is obvious that his son can’t see because the helmet is over his eyes. If he wants to protect children he can begin by getting a helmet that fits correctly. Maybe he has bigger issues to consider rather than protecting his child from head injuries.
Just saw the commercial again. Somebody tipped them off. Looks like they’ve edited in new footage of Jindal, Jr. with a smaller helmet. My spouse laughed. It’s not a great fit, but a lot better. Still in all, the Jindal’s don’t know anything about bicycle safety and head injuries.
Oh yes, I have seen that commercial. The poorly fitting helmet was probably an attempt to make a “cute family moment” into campaign gold. Unfortunately that “cute family moment” made the Jindal’s look like irresponsible parents.
