Jindal Also Supports Co-Payments In Medicaid.

Medicaid was never intended to be a “cost-sharing” system but rather a system to help those that are in real need. Most people that use Medicaid are seniors and disabled people which would be widely effected by this, and then there are Federal laws that prohibit this cost sharing for children and pregnant women which use this service at or above the poverty line ($15,260 for a family of three) by at most 100%.
Seems a bit discrimatory to penalize some and not others. So do I think the “cost sharing” would put money into other areas, Yes. But at what cost to those that use these services with valid request (seniors and disabled).
