Jindal “Dead Zone” vote boggles the mind.

Congressman Bobby Jindal put forward an amendment to a bill that would provide funding on an environmental issue that threatens Louisiana industry on Wednesday. Even though he expected to have to fight for this amendment, it passed unanimously. What is baffling is that even though the bill contained the amendment that Jindal wanted, he still voted against the overall bill!

The bill passed. However, President Bush is promising a veto.
The main question is this; why bother amending a bill when you are going to vote against it anyway?

Jindal will take credit for the admendment none the less. Somebody should do an analysis on these voting records that exposes the tricks they use to feign support for certain issues. Americans should see the game in action. Instead the MSM is feeding them Paris Hilton and local weather reports about a fallen tree.
What is disturbing is that knowing the tactics of the Jindal camp, not only will he probably take credit for adding pork to the bill (by saying he supported legislation to increase funding to help the environment and protect the louisiana fishing industry) but he will also probably take credit for voting against a measure that had too much pork in it.
And the sad thing is people will give him kudos for it.

Well of course the vote on the bill was a “party line” vote. That is not shocking. It just is not logical to support amending a bill that adds more spending (pork) to it and then vote against the bill because it is filled with pork.
Why would somoene go through the effort to make and purpose an amendment then vote against it?
