House passes CHIP legislation
Sep 26th, 2007 by Daniel Z.
Many people have questioned whether Bobby Jindal can act in a bi-partisan manner. Well, yesterday Bobby Jindal joined 4 other Republicans and 3 Democrats in the bi-partisan action of not voting on this important legislation for Louisiana’s children.
As reported earlier, without additional funding, LACHIP will be facing a budget deficit. However, instead of actually crossing party lines and voting to help the children of Louisiana be healthy and enabling them to continue to get access to preventive care, Bobby Jindal must have been too busy running for governor to actually do the job he was elected to do. Fortunately for Louisiana’s children, the Democrats are in control of Congress and passed this legislation. Of course, Bush will probably veto it and Jindal will probably refuse to help override it.
