Don’t believe Dr. Ralph Abraham
Sep 23rd, 2007 by Daniel Z.
In Jindal’s newest attempt to fool the voters, his campaign has brought out a Dr. Ralph Abraham from Mangham Louisiana.
Dr. Abraham tells us that Bobby Jindal stopped the “insider deals” which the “corruption crowd didn’t like very much”. I am assuming that this ad is supposed to be a response to the ad claiming that Bobby Jindal has no heart.
Of course nobody in this election has criticized Bobby Jindal on any corrpution that he may have eliminated during his tenure at the Louisiana Department of Health. It is those other decisions (the ones that where in violaiton of the law, the ones that removed access to healthcare from those who needed it, the ones where Jindal kept cutting services and closing clinics even after he moved the department into the black) that Bobby Jindal is being criticised for.
One also has to question why Dr. Abraham is doing this ad. A simple look at the Louisiana campaign finance report webpage shows that in this election, Dr. Abraham has donated the maximum amount ($1,000 on 3/27/2007 and $4,000 on 5/12/2007). Is it just a matter of Dr. Abraham putting his money where his mouth is? Perhaps. However, one also has to wonder if there are any other reasons that Dr. Abraham might be supportive of what Bobby Jindal did as Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health.
Well, in the ad itself Dr. Abraham admits that “being a doctor in a rural parish, I see so many people who depend on medicaid”. I am unaware if Bobby Jindal closed any free clinics in or near Mangham during his tenure at the department of health, but he did close clinics in other areas. So it seems that Dr. Abraham has a vested interest in making sure Bobby Jindal gets elected because Bobby Jindal’s policies would enable Dr. Abraham to eat at the government trough by treating Medicaid patients. If free clinics are opened up in rural areas, an idea that even President Bush has endorsed, Dr. Abraham would see a decrease in his income.
Considering this, I find it hard to believe that Dr. Abraham is being altruistic in his support of Bobby Jindal and his candidacy for Governor since he would profit from Bobby Jindal’s clinic closing idealogy.
And considering that this ad continues the childish name calling without any proof to back it up, you have to just view this ad as one more example of misleading spin.

– Edited for offensive language –
How pathetic, Dan Z! The poll on your anti-Jindal site is 64% good and 36% bad! How funny is that! Just shows how futile your efforts are! Get a life, Dan!
“Phil”: I notice that, yet again, you refuse to respond to the content of the actual thread. Instead, you resort to attacking the unscientific poll and using offensive language to defend Jindal.
Though, I don’t expect anything different. The man you want to become governor resorts to name calling to try and win, I would expect nothing less from his die hard supporters.
Hi, I’m Bobby Jindal and I’m a loser.
Dan, I know you did not just bring up name calling. I think it shows great creativity that you created this site as a MIRROR IMAGE of Bozo’s site, nothing suspicious there. All your “self-appointed” flip flop governor does is spend his own money name calling and mud slinging, instead of actually making a point.
But I must reitterate, way to go and having a poll to show that you support a loser.
Still an undecided voter, yet my decision jsut got a little bit easier to make.
I know Dr. Abraham. He doesn’t need Bobby Jindal’s help for his business. He’s a good doctor with a good reputation for caring for his patients. He supports Jindal for many more reasons that his stances on health care.
What do you expect candidates to do, hire spokesmen who don’t support their campaign? Of course Dr. Abraham is a Jindal supporter. That doesn’t mean he’s incapable of telling the truth. Contrary to the picture you have painted with this website, Jindal is a man of integrity who have Louisiana’s best interests at heart.
I believe you have a personal agenda against Mr. Jindal, and I don’t care why. You’re just one vote, just like me….and Dr. Abraham.
capt “obvious”: How is this site a carbon copy of the Boasso site? And need I remind you that I do not own or control the site.
Mike: Do you really know Dr. Abraham? I have a problem taking any doctor seriously who approves of how Bobby Jindal conducted himself at the Louisiana Department of Health (considering the majority of the doctors and nurses I have worked with in the past told me that Jindal’s cuts did not fix the problem and made the problem worse).
No, I dont expect Jindal to hire paid spokesmen who do not support the campaign. What I do want is for people to look at Dr. Ralph in the proper context. Dr. Ralph is a supporter, a campaign contributor, and is someone who makes MORE money than he would already make because of Bobby Jindal’s policies.
Please explain to me how Bobby Jindal has “integrity”. Someone with integrity would not collect a paycheck for 2 months even though he is not doing the work he was hired to do.
Gov. Mike Foster never took a paycheck from LA. Does that automatically make him a good, honest guy? He’s a republican.
Positive comment makes Rep. look good. Oh no cannot do that, yet cannot say anything neg. about the man either. what to do, what to do?
Do not say he already had money. They all already have money. They could all do the job for free and still end up with bigger bank accounts.
Anyone following the presidential race? Clean, honest, and no mud slinging there, hu?
[…] Unfortunately, I don’t see any plans for increasing local clinics in rural areas. I guess that would undercut Bobby Jindal’s campaign contributors. […]
