Did Jindal Give Back The $1,000 Donation From Tony Rudy?
Feb 2nd, 2007 by jindalisbad
As far as I can tell there are no records of Bobby Jindal returning the $1,000 donation from lobbyist Tony Rudy. If your unfamiliar with Tony Rudy here is a snipit for you:
Tony Rudy, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy and joins former cohort Jack Abramoff as a possible witness in the government’s expanding corruption probe of lawmakers and their aides.
This article points out quite a few Republicans who received money from Tony Rudy and it shows who gave that money back. Jindal not being one of them as of yet.
Also this new tidbit of information was brought to light from one of our JindalIsBad.com commentors in a very similar post labelled “Bobby Jindal Keeps $5,000 Received From ARMPAC” which he has also yet to return. Is it just me or are we starting to see somewhat of a pattern of where Mr. Jindal acquires some of his funding?
You decide.

From the article you posted.
“Baker’s Louisiana colleague Rep. Bobby Jindal (R) gave the $1,000 his campaign received from Rudy to Xavier University’s hurricane-relief fund in January, according to his spokesman.”
So you would have to check his campaign finance reports to see if he actually did give that money to Xavier’s hurricane relief fund. But even so, it is just another example of him accepting a questionable contribution.
We have seen him take funds from Rudy, ARMPAC, and Halliburton. Who else has given him money.
If Congressman Jindal will accept money from questionable people in order to reach office, what favors will he owe them when he gets into office?
Good post by both you of you gentlemen. These post need to go to PoliticLA.com. A site rich in Jindal supporters. These people are blind to the truth. I have tried over the last 10 months to shed light on the truth but I can’t get through to them. It is my belief that an elected official ecspecially the Governor should have not only a n alliance but a duty to serve the people that elected him/her. The people of Louisiana. Any political party of special interest should come afterwards.
I have posted there before, and you are correct, they do not want to hear any bad things about Jindal.
Of course, with the number of unregistered posters in that forum, it is quite possible that many of them are the same guy.
But there are not enough actual posters there to make a big dent in any election anyway.
Dan that was kind of my point a bit. I never saw anything released from Xavier or officially on Jindal’s site, that’s why I asked the question.
On page 214 of Bobby Jindal’s 2006 april quarterly campaign finance report, it shows Bobby Jindal making a donation of $5750 to Xavier University on 1/19/2006. Maybe there was another contribution that I missed, but I believe this is the donation that was referred to in the artice.
On 1/25/2006 Jindal made a $2000 donation to the Louisiana Republican party (page 217).
The article is dated April 4th 2006. I see nothing specific in the campaign finance reports saying that part of the money going to Xavier was Rudy’s money. It would be easy for me to assert that Tony Rudy’s money was donated to the Republican party of Louisiana instead of saying that it was given to Xavier.
What I have learned by glancing through Jindal’s campaign finance report to find this information is that working for a campaign can be very profitable. In the first 3 months of January, one of Jindals staff made over $3000 a month. $36,000 a month is not bad for off season political pay. But that could be an issue for another day.
What my research has found is that there really is no way for us to know where that money went. I cannot say for certain if that money given to Xavier included Rudy’s money or if that donation just gave Jindal an easy out on any questional donations less than $5750.

Note: that should say $36,000 anually not monthly.
