Congressman Jindal makes it official.
Jan 22nd, 2007 by Daniel Z.
Bobby Jindal is “officially” a candidate for governor. He claimed that he wouldn’t start “campaigning” until the summer to allow the upcoming legislative session occur without it being politicized.
The reallity is that Bobby Jindal has been running for governor ever since he lost the last election in 2003. He used his Congressional campaign funds to advertise all over the state in the most recent election.
The statement is very smart politically. I mean, by making this statement Jindal is trying to take away the argument that he is wasting our time in Congress by running for governor. However, Im sure if you watch his activities and votes from now until the summer you will most likely see activity that can clearly be defined as “campaigning”.
He may not start putting out campaign materials or commercials until the summer, but make no mistake…. he has already started campaigning for the seat.

Heck he’s already asked for money. What else does he need to do? Spend it!
Well that is why the idea that this e-mail made it “official” is absurd. If you actively ask for money for an office, you are campaigning for that office and cannot said to not be campaigning for the office until you fail to qualify for the election.
