Bobby Jindal: Born Again Christian?!?!?!?!?!?

Watch this. http://youtube.com/watch?v=zVf75c5tEgs
According to what Bobby Jindal says in the ad, is a “Born Again Christian”.
According to the Catholic Answers website
“When a Catholic says that he has been “born again,” he refers to the transformation that God’s grace accomplished in him during baptism. Evangelical Protestants typically mean something quite different when they talk about being “born again.” ”
http://www.catholic.com/library/Are_Catholics_Born_Again.asp
But I didn’t have to go to that website, I just went to my Catholic wife who told me that Bobby Jindal is a flat out liar for trying to claim to be a “Born Again Christian”.
In an ad that is obviously in response to the ads the Democrats played in North Louisiana, but instead of clearing the issue up, Congressman Jindal has used more spin to confuse the issue even more.
If Bobby Jindal was being honest and proud of his religion, why wouldn’t he say “I am proud to be a Catholic” and leave it at that? Why would he use terms that can be confused? The answer is simple, he is just as guilty of word games as anyone else in politics. But this ad claims that Bobby Jindal will give us a fresh start? I think not.

There you go again, Dan! Attacking Bobby’s faith will get you nowhere! It will just keep blowing up in your face like a bad grenade! Keep it up, and Bobby may get 70% on election night!
I am not attacking Bobby Jindal’s faith. I am attacking him for being deceptive about his faith, there is a difference. Bobby Jindal is claiming to be a “born again Christian” to people who consider themselves to be “Born Again Chrisitans” (and I intended the difference in capitalization, because it does make a difference).
I cited “Catholic Answers” to prove the point that there is a difference between what Catholics see as being “born again” and what Evangelicals believe is being a “Born Again”.
If Bobby Jindal would be honest about his faith, then I wouldn’t call him on it. But he is being deceptive at the very least and flat out lying (according to my wife and my mother in law, both Catholic) at worst.
And if Bobby Jindal didn’t campaign on his faith, well, perhaps nobody would focus on it either.
Bobby Jindal says “Born Again Christian” rather than Catholic, because if he were to go into your typical conservative Protestant church and describe how he converted from Hinduism to Catholicism, people would still consider him to be a heathen and not a True Believer.
Hmmmm…… Piyush “Bobby” Jindal…. Enigma, Juggernaut, Puppet, or………………… Leader?
So now Louisiana has PBJ for Guv and meandering minds want to know; Messiah, Moron, Mannequin, Manipulator, or Magnificent Managerial Material? Ahhh……. Let me peer into the crystal ball………. (or give ye olde majic 8 ball a quik shake or 2).
Well, no answer popped up. Guess it needs public input, but one sure fire indicator I know of (or actually made) that will serve as a major meter to measure his intent would be whether or not within the next 30 – 45 days he causes, or is able to influence the provisions of aid posted on www.strongconcrete.com page 12 to start happening in real time terms. That would be the hallmark of a meaningful administration, the ability to make good on his words.
It is a simple as this; If the Guv would rather overlook those generous offers posted on that website and opts for the taxpayers to foot an inflated bill of goods they are going to be sold via the very same government instead, then really, what kind of a Guv is he/will he be?
There is your answer, and immediately after New Years, you will have your proof or his statement of true intent on anything where you, and/or your tax dollars can be concerned.
(If he or his affiliates have a problem with this position I have, just remember, it is not up to me to prove that I am right, but rather it is up to them to prove me wrong. After all, I was already out there working at making changes while he was still cracking textbooks that attempted to ‘school’ him on what change really meant.) So I guess the proof really would be in the peanut butter and jelly after all…. Good Luck Louisiana, because it really does boil down to the ‘Smitreaux’ a.k.a. strongconcrete challenge and that ain’t no crawfishin’ either no.
mountain out of a molehill.
Jesus says you must be born again, and if a Catholic at baptism, or an Evangelical at some other time, what of it? He’s relating to the coming of the Holy Spirit which is for all of us. Sounds like you’re being intentionally divisive. Catholics and Protestants accept each as Christians. Let it be.
Jindal is a Catholic.
Catholics do not refer to themselves by saying “I am a Born Again Christian”. Catholics use the term “born again” as an adjective, not a noun.
I provided the link to you.
It seems like JIndal was the one being divisive and intentionally so.
Oh, come on, why are you hung up on whether or not catholics can define themselves or call themselves as born again? That is so silly, this is coming from a practicing and devout Catholic. Of course we can say we are born again, and we are, it’s what conversion does to the soul, nothing that contradicts the official teaching of the Church! Stop the word games, you have other issues with Jindal, this is your ammo, trying to smear the guy and label him bad, what you are doing is anti-christian, called slander. When you call someone deceptive, etc. and get others to think poorly of someone else’s reputation based on false reasoning is just evil!!!
Bobby has said over and over again that he is proud of his Catholic Faith, but people like you don’t care about facts, you just want something to keep your little mind in darkness and breed hatred toward another human being!
Ana: Did you bother reading the link? Catholic.com clearly states the difference between Catholics saying that they are “born again” and evangelicals referring to themselves as “Born Again Christians”.
JINDAL is the one who played word games here. He ran that ad ONLY in North Louisiana (where there are a lot of Evangelical Protestants and not a lot of Catholics).
If someone comes up to you and says “I am a Born Again Christian”, do you honestly think they mean anything other than “evangelical protestent”? I think not.
I am happy Bobby Jindal is proud of his Catholic faith. I am not saying he shouldn’t be. But the FACTS (that you claim that I should care about, but you really ignore) are that Jindal had a campaign based on lies… and that is something that is not very Christian.
He claimed to want increased transparency in government yet signed a bill that removed his office from the public records law. That was a lie.
He claimed to want to make Louisiana tougher on ethics violations. He signed a bill into law that made it harder to convict people of ethics violations because it increased the burden of proof. To this day he says that he improved out ethics laws when the reallity is that by making it harder to convict someone, he just made it easier for unethical people to get away with corruption. So again, another lie.
Try researching the FACTS on this site instead of blindly following people like Jindal and Palin. Perhaps you would actually LEARN soemthing. (Oh wait, I forget, the die hard, hard core, Republicans view learning as bad… because somehow it has become a bad thing to be an “intellectual”).
