Apples and Oranges

It seems that State Republican Party officials have a problem with making logical comparisons. It seems that now they are trying to assert that because Boasso’s company is the subject of a lawsuit about an on the job injury that he is somehow hypocritical for running the ad that reveal Jindal’s policies while he was head of DHH as being in violation of the law.
State Republican Party officials called Boasso hypocritical for running the anti-Jindal ad. At a press conference of their own Monday, they pointed to a pending lawsuit against Boasso’s shipping industry business involving a 1999 accident that left a man permanently disabled.
Gene Franques said he was in a van hit by a tractor-trailer driver working for Boasso’s company, and he sued when the insurer for Boasso America Corp. wouldn’t pay his claim. The insurance company at the time of the accident went bankrupt, and another insurance company is handling the claim for the company. But Franques said he blames Boasso for refusing to settle the matter.
Um, perhaps this is what happens when one of the goals of the Republican Party is to wreck education. They don’t seem to be able to comprehend the differences between this situation and Jindal’s policies being in violation of the law.
First and foremost, nobody is claiming that Walter Boasso made a decision as head of his company that was in violation of the law.
Second, Boasso did not make a decision at his company that caused this person to get injured on the job. Bobby Jindal’s decisions in the DHH caused Mr. McNiece to improperly lose his Medicaid benefits.
Next, while it is sad that Mr. Franques got disabled on the job and I really feel sorry for him, the reason that Boasso America Corp. had insurance is to cover accidents on the job. Boasso can hardly be blamed for his first insurance company going bankrupt.
Finally, when someone has insurance, they typically wait for the insurance to pay out the claim. If I get into an automobile accident, I do not pay the other person and have the company reimburse me. My insurance company gives direct payment. To fault Boasso for not settling is absurd because Boasso is not responsible for settling this case.
The Republican Party sure is getting desperate to get Bobby Jindal into office. I wonder what other absurd comparisons they will come up with in order to mislead voters.
In response to the revelation brought forward by Mr. Franques, Republican Party of Louisiana Executive Director James Quinn said:
“Once again we have a case of Walter Boasso being worse than a hypocrite, not only saying one thing while he does another, but being guilty of that which he accuses someone else.”
And there is James Quinn, Republican Party hack who really has no clue about what reallity is. Comparing these two events is not even like comparing apples and oranges, it is more like comparing apples and pencils. There is absolutely no comparison between the two and Mr. Quinn and the rest of the Jindal shills prove their desperation with each and every ill informed comment.

The problem is, that they are not really counting on their responses to make any sense. Is too easy to fool people and they take full advantage of that fact. That is why we need more bloggers exposing their shills and lies. The local Media is bought and paid for already so this is our only chance to start turning the debates and issues into something that resembles reality.
While I do have my beef with the local media, with the current articles by Clancy DuBos, Stephanie Grace, Stephen Sabludowski and others… it appears that Jindal is becoming less and less the media darling the more he continues his current strategy.
Media darling? Give me a break. If anyone is a media darling, it’s all of his opponents that the media calls “front runners”. Collectively, they aren’t pulling 30% support from the state, yet the media is portraying them as real threats. Unless the Dems can come up something with a little more stick than the junk they’ve been trying to throw out there, you may as well get use to the idea of Mr. Jindal being our next governor. Junk includes this stupid apples and oranges stuff on this site. This nobody, Georges, doesn’t even have enough of a clue to put a new idea out there. We’ve already have a governor that is good at pointing at others and telling us all what is wrong with them, but can’t offer any intelligent ideas to help our state. Why make that mistake twice and elect another finger pointer. I hope our state has evolved past that notion. All that got us last time is a bad rep and a governor that make the top 5 list of worst governors.
Justin: They are not calling Boasso, Georges, and Campbell “front runners”, they are calling them “major candidates” because of the money they have to spend.
Of course, I notice you only focus on the “media darling” comment and not the rest of the points I made. I wonder why?
[…] Update: I heard back from Garey Forester. Seems if I had the wrong GOP hack as the one being hired. It was James Quinn, Executive Director of the Republican Party, who got hired and not Florist Gump. James Quinn is now the Director of Boards and Commissions. You can see an example of Quinn’s “hackery” here. […]
